Agri-Business Unit launches training to agribusiness firms
The staff were already capacitated through Training of Trainers by the support of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in May and June, 2015.
The training named “Business and Marketing Training” is composed of topics of 5S, Marketing, Accounting, Funding, Raw materials procurement and Production Management.
Topics of Marketing, Accounting, Financing, and Production Management are essential to maintain healthy business firms. Beside those topics, Five-S (5S) is unique. It is one of production management tools developed in Japan. The word “5S” is created from Japanese words; Seiri (Sort), Seiton (Set), Seiso (Shine), Seiketsu (Standardize), and Shitsuke (Sustain).
The tool is an excellent tool to achieve continuous quality improvement in workplace, offices, and factories processing fucilities. Ultimately, productivity is increased and thus profit is maximized in agribusiness firms.
ABU performed 5S practice at one fruits juice producer in Accra on July 23 followed by an agro processing company and a bakery in Kumasi on July 29 – 30 as well.
