The Companies include Kasapreko, Ghana Reinsurance, Accra Breweries, and National Investment Bank. The others were Interplast, Gally Ghana and Golden Exotics.

All the company representatives who made the donations on behalf of their respective companies expressed their company’s delight to be associated with the National farmer’s Day. They hoped their donations will go a long way to support the Ministry in its programme and organisation.

The donations were received by the Deputy Minister for the sector Hon. (Dr.) Ahmed Yakubu Alhassan who is the Chairman of the National Planning Committee.

In his acknowledgement speech, Hon. (Dr.) Ahmed Alhassan expressed his gratitude and that of the Ministry to the companies for their donations. He said the government alone cannot foot all the resources needed for the organisation of the event, hence the need to appeal to Corporate Institutions to support. Dr. Alhassan said the institution of the National Farmer’s Day was to honour the nation’s Farmer’s and Fishers who have been the backbone of the Nation’s economy over the years, putting food on our table and providing the raw materials for our industries.

A similar donation to the Ministry was made on October, 14 by IPMC, a leading IT Company in the country which donated an amount of Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis to support the programme.

The National Farmer’s Day for 2015 which is the 31st edition will be held in Bolgatanga on December 4th 2015. It is on the theme “Transform Ghana: Invest in Agriculture.”

The National Farmer’s Day was formally launched in July, 2015.
