Journalist killed in car bombing
A car bombing in Mogadishu has killed a television journalist on Monday, security sources confirm.

The deceased journalist, Mohamed Ibrahim Gabow, who was a news anchor for Kalsan TV had borrowed the car from a friend, Mohamed Moalim Mustaf when the car unexpectedly exploded and he died on the spot.
“The journalist died after a bomb planted in a car he was driving exploded. His body has now been taken to a hospital. The police will investigate,” the spokesperson for the Mayor of Mogadishu, Abdifatah Omar Halane told reporters.
No group has ever claimed the killing of a journalist in the capital.
Somalia, which is currently ranked 167th out of 180 countries for journalist safety has now experienced four journalist killings this year.
The country has suffered political instability and lawlessness since the toppling of military dictator Mohamed Siad Barre.
