Major Twumasi-Ankrah is a distinguished soldier who is no stranger to royal formalities and requirements having acted as the escort commander during the wedding of Prince William and his wife Katie Middleton now Duke and Duchess of Cornwall. He has also commanded the Blues and Royals at the Queen’s birthday parade.

The 38-year-old Ghana-born soldier is reported to be a veteran of the war in Afghanistan and told the Sunday Times that he used to watch hs regiment march as a little boy.
"I would have never imagined that one day I'd command the regiment which I'd fallen in love with.
"From what I've seen in the UK, our cultures really do mix and if I'm not a good example of that I really don't know what is."
