  • Islamist militants thought to be affiliated with the terrorist group ISIS set off multiple bombs in a mosque in Bir al-Abed, Egypt, then opened fire on worshippers and others in the area. The attack left at least 235 people dead.

President Donald Trump on Friday condemned the deadly attack on a mosque in Egypt that left at least 235 people dead, using the incident to renew calls for a wall along the US-Mexico border and a ban on travelers from certain majority-Muslim countries.

Trump has long called for dramatic restrictions on travel and immigration, purportedly for national security reasons, including through constructing a wall along the US-Mexico border and barring people from certain majority-Muslim countries from entering the US.
