Ghana's president turns up in style for the country's Freedom Fight Night

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo was a guest at the Freedom Fight Night, a boxing show organized as part of Ghana's 60 years anniversary since independence.

The president of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo was at the Bukom Boxing Arena on Saturday, March 11, 2017, to witness the bout between Ghanaian boxer Richard Commey and Tunisian boxer Heidi Slimani.

The boxers will fight for the WBC Lightweight International Silver Title as part of boxing activities for the Freedom Fight Night.

Freedom Fight Night, a boxing show at Ghana’s plush Bukom Boxing Arena is part of celebrations for the country’s 60 years anniversary.

President Akufo-Addo arrived at the arena in a shirt designed with the official Ghana@60 cloth.

Ghana's former president, Jerry John Rawlings was also at the venue for the boxing occasion organized to celebrate 60 years after the country's indepence. Rawlings is a fan of boxing and has attended many fight nights in the country.

A win for Ghanaian boxer Richard Commey on the night will move him up the WBC rankings for another possible world title fight.

Commey lost to Robert Easter Jnr in the IBF Lightweight world title bout in the later part of the year 2016.

Frederick Lawson will fight Sakima Mulliings for the WBC International Welterweight Silver Title with Duke Micah taking on Jonathan Aguila for the WBC International Bantamweight Silver Title.
