Sulley Muntari reaction to this Italian TV show trying to award him for what he did shows he wants real issues to be addressed.
Football fans in the world are familiar with Ghanaian player Sulley Muntari with him having played for some of the biggest clubs there are in the world including AC Milan and Inter Milan.
Muntari has also represented his country at the highest level after playing for the Ghana Black Stars in three different FIFA World Cup tournaments.
When it comes to ‘no nonsense’ in football, Sulley Muntari will not be cheated and accounts of his football records and dealings have proved this.
Ghanaian player Sulley Muntari has been a world topic in football starting on the weekend of 26th April 2017 after walking off the pitch during a game between his current club Pescara and Cagliari.
Muntari who was booked by the match day official for walking off the pitch for being racially abused has received backing from the UN, Ghana’s former president John Dramani Mahama, Italy football legend Alexander Del Piero and a host of players, fans and pundits alike.
The uproar went up a notch when the Italian Football Federation announced their decision to ban Muntari for walking off the pitch in the aftermath of the game.
So it’s been a tough week for Sulley Muntari who has had to deal with racial abuse, get punished and banned for trying to react to being racially abused and deal with all the press surrounding the incident.
An Italian TV Show La Notizia, whether by wanting some free publicity or goodwill decided to award Muntari for standing up against racism by ambushing him on his way to training.
The reaction from Sulley Muntari was priceless for someone who hasn’t yet been fairly treated since getting abused by fans at the Cagliari game.
Sulley Muntari stood up against racism, not to receive an award or get the attention. So just deal with the issue at hand.
