A last-second fumble by the Cleveland Browns led to a surprising result in Vegas

The Cleveland Browns fell to 0-10 on the season with their loss on Sunday to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Cleveland also failed to cover the spread, thanks to a last-second fumble from Deshone Kizer that didn't really impact the final outcome of the game, but did swing plenty of money in Las Vegas.
With a record of 2-8 against the spread, the Browns are officially the worst bet in football.

It's been yet another rough year for the Cleveland Browns.

Winless through ten games for the second consecutive year, Cleveland has failed to give its fans any reason to believe that an end to their perpetual misery is in sight.

But in addition to a difficult stretch for Browns fans, it's also been an absolutely tragic year for people who have bet on the Browns, with Cleveland coming up with new and innovative ways to fail to cover the point spread from week to week.

On Sunday, the Browns were 7.5-point underdogs at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars, meaning that for Browns bettors to cash, Cleveland could win the game outright or lose by a touchdown or less. The Browns managed to keep things close for most of the game and even got the ball back deep in their own territory down 13-7 with two minutes left. They had a chance to drive the field and win the game outright.

At this point, Browns bettors felt pretty comfortable. If rookie quarterback Deshone Kizer was able to lead the Browns all the way to the end zone that'd be a win. But even if Cleveland stalled and turned the ball over on downs, Jacksonville would likely just line up in victory formation and kneel the game away.

It seemed the Browns were a safe bet, right until the point where things fell apart in true Browns fashion.

Kizer dropped back on first down, only to have the ball stripped from him by Jaguars defensive end Yannick Ngakoue, who sent the loose ball flying backwards towards the Browns' end zone. Running back Duke Johnson Jr. was almost able to recover the ball for the Browns on the one-yard line, but the ball squirmed away from him as well and Telvin Smith landed on if for the Jags, scoring a touchdown and delivering Jacksonville bettors a last-second cover.

It's the second-straight week that the Browns have let gamblers down in the final moments of the game. Last weekend facing the Lions, Kizer had the chance to score a touchdown to earn a backdoor cover for Cleveland, only to throw an interception in the red zone, dousing the hopes of Browns bettors.

Sunday's loss drops the Browns to 0-10 overall and an atrocious 2-8 against the spread in Vegas, both worst in the NFL.
