Meet the only Ghanaian star referee selected to officiate 2018 CHAN tournament

The 30-year-old, who is a product of Accra Academy and the University of Ghana, has been touted as the next big thing for Ghana football.

Daniel Laryea, the fast-rising referee is the only Ghanaian named to officiate at the 2018 CHAN tournament in Morocco, that is according to local news agency GHANAsoccernet.

He is part of a 24-man referees selected to officiate the tournament next year.

He has been touted as the next big thing for Ghana football.

The most promising referee in the west African country wants to raise the bar in officiating in Ghana.

He has officiated several matches on the continent and hugely tipped to become an elite CAF A referee.

Aside football, Laryea is a fan of basketball. He takes delight in watching his favourite superstars doing dunks on the basketball court.

Laryea had his secondary school education at Accra Academy and is an alumnus of the University of Ghana, Legon. He currently holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

The young referee who is becoming an enviable brand in Ghana due to his professionalism officiated at the 2017 WAFU Cup of Nations hosted by his native Ghana this year.

He is the only Ghanaian to earn the chance to represent the West Africans at the continental championship.
