Stephen Appiah and Olele turn back the clock at Black Stars training

The current team manager of the team played for Juventus

What was supposed to be a routine training day for the Black Stars of Ghana in their preparation for a World Cup qualifier against Uganda turned into must watch session as former captain Stephen Appiah took to the field at the Moi International Sports Center in Nairobi.

Appiah currently serves as the team manager of the team but was drafted in to join a trio of Maxwell Konadu and  Richard Kingson as outfield players in a tactical drill for defenders.

After a shaky start, the former Juventus midfielder warmed into the game as he sprayed passes to Konadu and Kingson in a bid to unsettle the defenders.

The defenders relished the chance of going up against Appiah, who in his day was among the best midfielders in the world.

Ghana's preparation for the crucial game in Kampala on Saturday has been smooth even though the team has had to deal with enforced absences through injury with Newcastle United winger Christian Atsu also reportedly picking up a late knock.

He is however expected to join the team before its departure to Kampala on Thursday.
