The health of an individual is the prime fuel that keeps life moving. Globally there are many physicians needed to help rescue the world's ill population from devastating diseases.

Africa especially is deficient in terms of the ratio of doctors to patients. What could be the remedy or first point of aid to the sick population in Africa?

What if you could get an app that tells you if and when you need to see a doctor at the clinic and even send you a prescription when you need it, all from the comfort of your home. Will you want it?

Well, Business Insider Sub Saharan Africa interviewed the Docta Group, a mobile health company evolving the way Ghanaians everywhere connect to care.

Welcome to health care in the digital age, where smartphone owners have access to their very own doctors and therapists at the touch of a button.

Docta Group Ltd. mission is to connect people to the right care at the right time.

Cedric Foudjet is the founder of Docta Ghana app, a healthcare app that seeks to connect patients and doctors via an e-platform; on the app physicians are just a click away.

The young man has been passionate about health care since he was a baby. He recounts the painful moments when sickness denied his mother of the rights to education at a very young age.

Cedric was inspired by his mother's debilitating health condition. As a child he knew he wanted to influence the healthcare system, nevertheless, he was clueless as to what he wanted to do.

So watching her while growing up made me always want to do something in healthcare, he says.

Definitely, it was an uphill challenge for some time as he tried brainstorming on what to do. Yeap! the Docta Ghana app idea came glittering like an aigrette of stars while he sat in his Accra residence.

Docta Ghana app is a mobile application that aims at connecting patients to doctors for medical attention. It is on the Android Play Store and working to launch in the Apple world.

Then the journey began, financial constraints have always been a headache for starters, however we were able to pull and push through, he tells Business Insider SSA

But how do we know if it works? Cedric is certainly careful not to make too many grand claims for the app.

Every year, about 180,000 people die in Ghana not always because they could not be saved but sometimes because they did not get or seek the right care at the right time.

This could either be because they could not get access to care in time or they were too busy with everyday life to seek care. What if there was another way, a better way.

With Docta Ghana app, you do not have to worry about proximity to care or the stressful and time-consuming experience of going to a clinic until it's absolutely necessary.

You can talk to a doctor via video visit and soon in person all from the comfort of your house.

He says Docta Ghana app encourages people to open up about their health to doctors enrolled onto the system so as to get medical attention.

The app has been programmed to prescribe medications amongst others.

Perhaps being aware that credibility may be an issue, he collaborated with the Ghana Medical Association in a very rigorous recruiting process for their doctors to ensure that they only attract the very best talents.

Docta Ghana app is also the most family friendly healthcare app in Ghana. You can create one account for you and your family and enjoy the convenience of home care with the whole family.

The cost of seeing a Doctor on the app is 24 dollars. This fee allows you to see and follow up with the same doctor for 3 straight days. Patients that use the App can pay using a variety of methods including mobile money pay, credit and Debit or ATM cards.

Cedric Foudjet is calling on investors to throw their weight behind businesses that seek to revolutionised human lives.
