Why average students rule the world

This is the reason why the not so brilliant people in your class would be the most succesful

Here is a fun fact. The best and brightest students in your class most probably won’t have the biggest influence on the world. Chances are they would grow up to be healthy, well adjusted, okay, career working people but they don’t necessarily stay at the top of the class.

Twenty years after high school, the name of the class changes. The exams you’re tested on are completely different, and it turns out most of the time, the ‘average students’ end up being at the top of the ladder.

Here are three reasons why the ‘C’ students rule the world.

1.They do not obey the rules

The best student in school was the one who did his homework on time, aced every test, remained quite in class, dressed neatly, and never challenged authority. ‘A’ students were not adventurous and took zero risk in doing anything they were not required to do. However, the rules of the real world are different. The only people who create change are those who take initiative, are daring, disruptive and bold enough to sway from conventional paths.

2. They get first-hand experience

Everyone knows that what actually gets you employed is work experience and while the brightest students are keen about not missing any class, average students risk some of their school hours taking part-time employments and volunteering to get skills make them relevant when they’re out of school. They gradually become experts in real-time situations than the usual ‘if’ scenarios we the best students are used to.

3. They’re used to failure

One very important lesson you learn on the road to success is that success requires that you fail. More so, you need to be emotionally intelligent to take defeat, persevere when you hit the skids and develop an earnest passion to never give up. The usual “C” student knows what it is like to struggle, starting with passing an exam and ending with finding money to start their own business. The best students usually don’t have that character.

4. They build networks

Most of the people you see in the work places are not there because they’re the most competent people in the world. The world operates around people and one sure way to climb to the top is aligning yourself to the influential people around you. The average student is not shy to walk up to the ‘big’ man and just start a conversation. They go to programs, meet people and keep a healthy social life. In doing that, they align themselves to people who can potentially help them succeed.
