'Enough is enough,' ICU demonstrates for Opuni's removal
The union demonstrated today in Accra to present a petition to the ministry of labour and industrial relations, detailing instances of disrespect from the CEO to workers.
The Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU) has called for the dismissal of the CEO of COCOBOD Dr. Stephen Opuni from office for ‘disrespectful’ conduct and financial malfeasance.
According to the Union, Opuni is involved in secret sale of cocoa amounting to $1o million.
The also accused him of given punitive transfer to workers who disagree with him.

Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered bank has been cited for contempt by an Accra high court for failing to obey a court order restraining the bank from going ahead with a redundancy exercise.
Kweku Bedu-Addo risk going to jail if he fails to purge himself by June 6, according to a judgment delivered by Justice Kweku Ackaah Boafo.
The Human Resource Manager of the Bank Rosie Ebe-Arthur was also cited for contempt by the court.
The two are to pay GHC20,000 or risk servicing a 21-day term in jail.
