Microfinance Customers in Sunyani threaten govt. over locked-up investments
The customers have threatened to vote against the NDC government if the flagstaff house does not intervene in the Issue.
Disgruntled customers of DKM Microfinance companies in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo region took to the street on Wednesday to stage a huge demonstration to demand the release of their investments. The customers have been agitating for the release of their investments after the Bank of Ghana released the frozen accounts of DKM Microfinance in October 2015.
Meanwhile, the customers have threatened to vote against the NDC government if the flagstaff house does not intervene in the Issue.
Organized labour fights for 50% salary increment
Elsewhere, Organised labour is asking for 50% salary increment to cushion workers against the recent fuel and utility tariffs.
The fuel increases were occasioned by the passage of theEnergy Sector Levy, 2015 by Parliament last December.
Their request has been necessitated by hikes in Electricity and water tariffs to the tune of 59.2 per cent and 67.2 per cent respectively and an increase in the prices of fuel by 27%.
