Staring at a charged crowd of students Friday at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Akfuo-Addo's tone grew urgent, almost pleading and motivating.

He pilloried the Mahama administration for doing almost nothing to empower the youth.

"People keep telling you that you are the future of our country. I want to say something a bit different. I want to tell you that your future is now. Let me repeat it, your future is now,”Akufo-Addo stated.

He cautioned students against apathy, reminding them that another four years for President Mahama will mean they will not have any future to inherit.

"If we, the people of Ghana, including yourselves, allow John Dramani Mahama another four years in power, you will have no future to inherit," he said. "That is why I am saying to you that your future is now. To secure your future, we have to make sure that Mahama is defeated on December 7. That is the task I am leaving you.”

Addressing students has become one of the strategies of Akufo-Addo's campaign team owning to the widespread dissatisfaction among young voters about the political system.

Securing their future, Nana Akufo-Addo stated, would be for students and the teeming masses of Ghanaian youth, who are facing a bleak future under President Mahama, to vote for him (Akufo-Addo) and the NPP in this year’s elections.

He, thus, urged them to “get involved in the mobilization of our people to make sure that on the 7th of December, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is elected.”

He added that the direction he is offering the people of Ghana is one which will “concentrate on growing our economy and making sure there are more and more jobs available for the young people of our country. That is the vision which we are working for our country, and it is what we will do when we are in office.”
