Two students from Unity and University halls attacked with machetes

The first attack on the student affiliated to Unity hall happened on Val's day while the reprisal attack on the students affiliated to Katanga happened the following day.

Reports reaching pulse.com.gh indicate that two students from Unity (Continental) and the University( Katanga) Halls of residence at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology have been hospitalized after they were attacked with a machete.

“Nothing happened between these halls it is an individual something,” the hall president of Unity Patrick Agyei tells Pulse News, dispelling reports that there was a clash between the two halls.

“Someone was sitting at the AU garden with his girlfriend and some guys went to attack him because he was an individual. They think he was part of a group which attacked someone earlier.” Agyei says.

He says a visit by the Vice Chancellor of the school and other school authorities indicate that the victims are doing well and responding to treatment.

He says the two halls are working together “ to fish out those who did that.”

A source close to the investigation also tells Pulse News authorities of the school are having a hard time identifying the culprits as the victims could only identify them by their nicknames.

Pulse News also gathers that the annual hall week celebration by  Unity Hall which starts next week is in limbo as a result of this incident.
