Sarkodie inspired rappers from Ivory Coast, lessons from flopped Burna Boy Concert and more

I share my views on the flopped Burna Boy Concert in Ghana, my trip to Ivory Coast, Kwaw Kese's imprisonment and more

Hello guys and welcome to another episode of #AmeyawSays. In this episode, I throw some light on my recent trip to Ivory Coast. The fun trip was my first visit to our francophone neighbours and it was an eye-opening experience for me. I discovered a lot of music from that region - mostly traditional music, reggae and some hiphop. It was particularly interesting seeing a young group of rappers who sounded a bit like Sarkodie during the GetStartedAfrica activations. Watch the vlog and hear what I mean!

I know a lot of people have had something to say about the flopped “Don Gordon Concert' featuring Burnaboy, AKA and others. I think it was a sad case of putting too much fate in social media and not monitoring trends. Yes, social media can be used to promote events but with the right network and very often, trends and responses on social media can give you an idea of how the promotion is going.

Hip Jam Live and Spaceship Entertainment organizers of the concert  issued an apology Facebook Page, yes social media again. Here is what they had to say: "We embarked on a new form of promotional campaign relying on social media, the new and modern age technology, as a means of attracting a youthful crowd. It is an evolving Internet age, it was a relatively new marketing strategy we employed. Yes, we are a young establishment with no prior branding or history as is every new organization. We may not have used certain forms of media, but social media and other forms of advertising is the new marketing ploy. "WE SINCERELY APOLOGISE TO OUR FANS FOR ANY LAPSES AND AS A TEAM PROMISE TO PUT UP A BETTER PERFORMANCE IN THE NEAR Future. We are keen on a more accurate portrayal of our vision in the near future."

Dont forget to watch the Vlog to find out my opinion on the concert as well as what I think of Kwaw Kese's one-day jail term, and Ghetto KB's burial. Have your say ...#AmeyawSays
