Drake blamed for Serena Williams' stunning U.S. Open loss

Serena Williams shockingly lost to Roberta Vinci during the U.S. Open on Friday afternoon, dashing her hopes of winning the Grand Slam.

Real-life goddess Serena Williams is one of the world's best tennis players, so she usually wins her matches.

Drake, her boyfriend who is also a rapper, has a track record as being bad luck for athletes.

So when Williams lost to Roberta Vinci during the U.S. Open on Friday afternoon, dashing her hopes of winning the Grand Slam, fans were quick to blame the Drake Curse. There is simply no other explanation.

Drake was appointed the ambassador of his hometown team, the Toronto Raptors, in 2013, when the team was promptly wiped out of the 2013-14 season.

When Drake supported the University of Kentucky Wildcats, he received a cease and desist letter from the team requesting that he stop attending their games.

Drake is rumored to be dropping a mixtape with Future on Friday, so perhaps that will salvage his goodwill. Especially if it includes heartfelt lyrics about not deserving Serena.

Appropriate places to run through with your woes: the 6, your mixtapes. Definitely not the U.S. Open.
