Daddy Lumba is a year older today

Daddy Lumba won Highlife Artist of the Year and Highlife Song of the Year at the just ended Vodafone Music Awards.

Daddy Lumba real name Charles Kwadwo Fosu was born in Nsuta, near Mampong, in the Ashanti Region, Ghana.

He debuted on the highlife scene with his massive hit "Yeeye Aka Akwantuo Mu" with Nana Acheampong, together called the Lumba Brothers with was produced by Lumba’s wife, Akosua Serwa.

Charles Kwadwo Fosu has been consistent with the release of multiple-hit albums since then, making him one of the greatest highlife musicians in Ghana.

In 1999, he won three awards including best album and the most popular song of the year at the Ghana Music Awards.

His single, "Yentia Bia" became an instant both in Ghana and beyond its boundaries. He won Highlife Artist of the Year and Highlife Song of the Year at the just ended Vodafone Music Awards.
