Kwaisey Pee is known for his thrilling voice which is similar to highlife legend, Kojo Antwi and has released several tracks in the past.

According to the award-winning musician, he borrows cars from friends to drive because he is broke. Speaking to Joy Fm’s Lexis Bill in an interview, Kwaisey Pee said he is financially unstable and describe his situation as “ups and downs”. He further commented that there are some good days and, "it’s really exciting."

“As for money, I’m telling you I even need your money. I’m broke as hell. I wouldn’t come and sit here, to be honest with you and before God and man and say you, it's super for me, it’s not [because] at the end of the day music is not selling anymore in terms of CDs…” Kwaisey Pee said.

Born, Akwasi Opoku, the ‘Mehia Odo’ crooner said he was mainly involved in music and it was not paying well hence his current state.

In the past Ghanaian artistes were paid according to the number of CDs that were bought but this isn’t the case now as most of them rely on proceeds from stage performances

“Like the way we used to do it back in the day, some of us were actually relying on CD sales and it’s no more.”  Kwaisey Pee lamented in the no-holds-barred interview  “I don’t get too many shows. Most of the time all the shows that you see me on is my own effort that I try to put some show together…”

Kwaisey Pee is also single as he is unable to fend for himself to talk of another mouth.  The last time he performed he said was in the December of 2016 because of the Christmas festivities.

“I feel like being alone… women always come in with a lot of expectations and so if you are not prepared, especially when you are a popular guy and they see you driving Bentley, they get excited without knowing the car is even borrowed".

His reason for borrowing the cars he said was to avoid the stares and haunting looks people give him on the streets

“You don’t want to walk on the streets for people to see you walking on the streets,” he ended.

Kwaisey Pee is the son of the late legendary Agyeiku, lead vocalist for the then Yamoah’s Band and the first cousin of Rex Omar. He has songs with artists including Sarkodie, Kofi B and other highlife names.
