Better your art instead of dissing me

The rapper in an interview on eTV’s Late Nite Celebrity show indicated that he has heard a number of songs from artistes targeted at him but decided not to respond to them because it will not benefit him in any way.

Rapper, D Black

“Yaa Pono, Wanlov and Mensa are the artists that dissed me. I don’t respond to these people because I don’t see how that will benefit me. I’m trying to do a lot for myself and my family, my team and I don’t see the point. For whatever reason it may be, I don’t try to understand why they choose to jab me unless you are giving me constructive criticism," yfmghana.com quotes him to have said.

D Black further added that he chooses not to respond to the jabs because of the level of respect he has for these artistes who have been in the music scene for long.

“I’m young and these other guys are all older than I am. Wanlov was signed to my older brother when I was like twelve years old. I see him like my big brother, so if my big brother goes on a record or social media to diss me, out of respect, I can’t diss him back. With Mensa, I was looking up to him coming up because I used to rap to his songs when I was in school.

“Why are you coming at me? I will wish they will use that time to better their art than diss me or others who are trying to make their way to the top,” he told host, Eddie Blay.

D Black will on July 19 release his much anticipated album, Light Work.

In 2015, D Black unveiled the track list for the album. The seventeen track album features Ofori Amponsah, Pappy Kojo, Castro, David, VVIP, Lil Shaker and many others. Among the songs are Alhaji Kiti, Dreams, Kotomoshi and Aben Dada.
