Artiste explains how his rebranding has been helpful

The intention to change from 'Episode' to 'Epixode' was to make him easily accessible to the public through online search engines.

Speaking on Arts in View on Radio XYZ, the ‘Avatar’ hit maker said the intention was to make him easily accessible to the public through online search engines.

“It was quite hard for people to find me. ‘Episode’ is not a word I created. It’s already in the dictionary but I took it because of who I wanted to be. I was doing so many things so I took that name to qualify all. But now it is a brand and business-wise, it’s quite hard. If you go online and search ‘Episode’, you get movies and books. It was just a brilliant idea that my team had to sit and replace the ‘s’ with ‘x’” he said.

Confronted with the question of why his Facebook ID is still ‘Am Episode’ instead of ‘Epixode’, the artiste said the team is facing challenges because of regulations of Facebook.

“I put up a post that we’re having difficulties in changing the Facebook name. Facebook is not giving us the chance. So there is a new page, ‘Epixodemusic’ that we have created. We are yet to merge them so we don’t lose numbers,” he noted.

Epixode is known for hit songs like Mandela, Tonight, Goodbye, Sinners Prayer and Avatar.
