It seems the trend in Ghanaian society where news worthy stories are overlooked for trivial and senseless stories seems to be something that Ghanaians appreciate.

Ghanaians seem to enjoy it when the stories are scandalous and might add outrageous headlines to be read. Many people use their various platforms to share these stories whether they are in favour of it or not.

In order to gain publicity, gain more likes and traffic on their sites, many news outlets tend to glorify these meaningless acts since Ghanaians are drawn to such nonsensical acts.

Well, it seems a Ghanaian comedian shares the same sentiment regarding the issue.

Kweku Sintim-Misa, popularly known as KSM has tweeted saying that Ghanaians are highly allergic to serious issues and if one wants to draw people’s attention they should not be serious in the least.

“If you want attention in GH, don’t be serious. GH is allergic to serious issues. In GH, the more its senseless THE GREATER THE ATTENTION” the tweet read.

The Ghanaian comedian and host is not far from the truth as this past year has witnessed a lot of illogical acts being praised on social media. Christabel Ekeh and Rashida Black are a perfect example of this Ghanaian trend. These ladies leaked their nude photos and grabbed the attention of the Ghanaian population.

One cannot determine if this will be a continuous trend, however, it is high time Ghanaians begin to be concerned about the actual issues affecting the nation.
