Veteran Actress Says Politics Destroyed Her Career

Veteran actress and TV personality Grace Omaboe, popular known as Maame Dokono in 2008 shifted her career focus to politics but she has disclosed that when she joined the political train, she couldn't secure roles in movies again and as a result destroyed her acting career.

The veteran actress made the revelation in an interview on UTV's entertainment news whilst disclosing the challenges she has been facing in her career. She added that public figures should not be vilified for engaging in politics or supporting political parties openly.

Maame Dokono however advised movie producers to go beyond personalities and pick people who are cut out perfectly for roles they desire in their movies.

"In Nigeria, old men and women are given roles as old people but in Ghana we have young people playing such roles. We are all around and we don’t charge too much so they can come for our assistance," she stated.
