One time BET Award winner Sarkodie has revealed that bad publicity helps boost his fame.

Rapper Sarkodie kicked off his radio promo tour for his new album “Mary” on Pluzz FM in Accra on Monday morning.

The rapper in a chat with host Sammy Flex revealed why he is mostly quiet over controversies about him.

According to him, bad publicity helps boost his fame.

"…You look at the positive side. If they are actually talking about it, you need to come down and chill. If they don’t talk about it then it means you have a problem. Whether good or bad I just sit down and enjoy it. At least you trend and that can be an opportunity to gain one fan and I wouldn’t miss that because when I come in and talk it might kill everything.

He hurriedly added that he is mostly worried about his true fans when he keeps mute over bad issues.

“.. but then people that love you are the ones that worry so those are the people that I worry about but not the case that comes up. I think most of the people are worried at home asking “oh why are they doing this to Sarkodie?”. I’m actually ok but I think about the people because it is hard for them especially with the family members and fans."

Sarkodie strongly believes that “with time, they will also become used to it.”
