900 'frustrated' SHS graduates could miss out on university admissions

The examination body said the results will be released after the conclusion of investigations into various cases of examination malpractice

This is because the West African Examination Council (WAEC) has refused to release their results.

The examination body said the results will be released after the conclusion of investigations into various cases of examination malpractice detected during and after the conduct of the examination.

The council has announced that it has withheld the entire results of candidates from 185 pending conclusion of investigations into malpractices detected during and after the examinations.

The students may have to wait till next year as the universities in the country have closed admissions.

Headmaster of one of the affected schools, who spoke on condition of anonymity to Accra-based Citi FM, he accused WAEC of not being committed to their investigations.

He said, the results have been released except for Integrated Science which has been withheld and universities are asking for that before admitting the students.

He said "All we hear is that, we are working on it, meanwhile admissions are closing. Some of the science students passed all their Elective subjects and it is not possible to fail in Integrated Science but that results have been withheld."

He added: about 900 students have been affected by the situation and are frustrated.
