Jack and Jill School, located in Accra, will by the end of July, 2017, depend solely on solar energy and will, therefore, not be required to rely on power from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

The school said that it has already begun moves to install solar panels to ensure regular power and do away with power outages and high tariffs.

The Managing Director of the school, Kwadwo Kwakye, disclosed this to Accra-based Class FM after the school's 42nd Graduation, Speech and Prize-Giving Day on Saturday.

He believes that a national educational policy is crucial to the survival of the country and hence must not be left in the hands of politicians.
