The institution currently does not have a substantive Deputy Rector. People have been appointed to act in that position since it became vacant.

Other top positions are also vacant with no sign of appointments any time soon.

In a statement sighted citifmonline.com, the President of the Senior Members Association, Stanley Coffie said the current situation was totally unacceptable.

“Members are very unhappy about the deliberate efforts by Management, the Academic Board and Council to keep GIMPA at a competitive disadvantage.”

According to him, “no other tertiary institution in Ghana suffers from such disarray at the top level as found at GIMPA.”

Stanley Coffie said they have used all means possible to get the appropriate stakeholders to make these appointments but to no avail.

He therefore argued that they have been left with no option but to abandon the lecture rooms if their grievances are not addressed.

The staff of GIMPA earlier called for the dissolution of the Council for an alleged mismanagement of the Institute.
