Mahama breaks ground for Eastern University at Somanya [Photos]
Parliament has already approved a 38 million Euro loan facility for the construction of the public university.

The establishment of the university would be in fulfillment of President Mahama’s 2012 campaign promise to establish a public university in the Eastern Region with the main Campus at Somanya, and a satellite campus in Donkorkrom.
The university which is envisaged to operate as a multi-campus becomes the second public university to run such a system after University for Development Studies (UDS).

The loan is an agreement between Government of Ghana and Deutsche Bank.
