The pair went on to introduce the nominees — "Ave Maria", "Day One", "Everything Will Be Okay" (Alles Wird Gut), "Shok" and "Stutterer" — and named "Stutterer" as the winner. First-time nominees Benjamin Cleary and Serena Armitage accepted the award.

While neither actor earned an Oscar nomination, each picked up awards during Oscar season: Tremblay, a Critics' Choice award and Attah, an Independent Spirit award.
