The football world lost a true great on Tuesday, with the passing of Ghana coaching legend Sir Cecil Jones Attuquayefio, at the age of 70.

A sad Gyan posted on Twitter soon after the news of the death of Jones Attuquayefio broke to send his condolence.

Attuquayefio's death was met with a touching tribute by current Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan, who took to twitter to remember and express his deepest condolence.
The Al Ain ace said: “Sad day…. my great coach and inspirer… he handed me my first chance… Rest in Peace Sir Cecil Jones Attuaquayefio.”
Attuquayefio coached Gyan in 2003 at Liberty Professionals.
Hiss footballing career spanned almost 20years. He started with Ghana Academicals in the early sixties, transferred to Accra Standfast F.C for a short-stint, later joined Ghana Republicans and finally settled with Accra Great Olympics - where he played from 1966-1974- during their most successful spell in Ghana football which culminated in two league titles in a space of four years.
He was a member of the Black Star team that won the African Nations Cup in 1965.
