Beverly Afaglo explains the secret behind her successful marriage to Choirmaster

Beverly has been married to Choirmaster of Praye fame for the past six years.

The actress is the wife of hip life artiste Eugene Baah, popularly known as Choirmaster, with the pair having gotten married six years ago.

Explaining what has kept their celebrity marriage going, Beverly said being a submissive wife has been the secret.

According to her, she recognizes her husband as the head of the family and gives him that respect despite her status as a star actress.

“As two people from different backgrounds, we may have different perspectives about issues but the truth is that I always honour my husband as the head of the family and give him that respect and that brings the peace we need in the marriage,” she told the Graphic Showbiz.

Beverly and Choirmaster are blessed with two lovely daughters from their marriage and the actress admits combining her duties as a wife and mother with her career is not an easy task.

According to her, it is difficult to sometimes be away from her husband and children due to her work, but insists her family will always be her priority.

“I won’t say marriage and being a mother has negatively affected my career. Not at all. I acknowledge my role first as a wife and a mother because my family is my priority. Until I know my family is okay with my long absence which comes with the demands of my job, they will always be on top of my list,” she said.

She added that she does not subscribe to the notion that all celebrity marriages do not last. In her view, the sustenance of a marriage does not hinge on the status of the couple, but by their commitment and desire to make it work.

She, therefore, believes that “just as ordinary marriages fail, so do celebrity marriages but that won’t be my portion”.

Beverly has been in the movie industry for over a decade now, having started her career as part of the cast for popular television series ‘About To Wed’.

She has also had stints in the media and was one-time the host of TV3’s ‘Music Music’, before later hosting ‘Beauty & Style’ on Metro TV as well.
