Nicholas Omane Acheampong warns gospel musicians

Gospel artiste, Nicholas Omane Acheampong has asked his colleagues not to associate themselves with secular artistes.

Nicholas Omane Achemapong is one of Ghana's long lasting gospel musicians.

"If you are an artist and you follow the entertainment industry who always want to brand you for you to make money, you will make money but the end is the problem. Every occupation has its path; so if you are into ministering, don’t associate with people who sing to whet people’s appetite or alcohol and fornication to be the same,” he said on Happy FM’s Showbiz Extra.

The Aposor singer further stated that gospel musicians should focus on doing God’s work than competing with other artistes.

“If you observe carefully, after two or three albums, some musicians slow down or are nowhere to be found. It’s just a few artists that get to the legendary status. As an artist, if you know the secret to your craft you will be around for a long time. If you want to do God’s work, the fundamental aspect is to be spiritual. If you are a gospel artist and you are competing with Shatta Wale regarding who has more money… The ministering is not for your sake. Shatta Wale and Sarkodie sing their songs for themselves but Gospel artists work for God. The Alewa Ofori Amponsah brought is for his sake,” he said.

Nicholas Omane Achemapong is one of Ghana's long lasting gospel musicians. He is known for his unique title tracks such as Tabita Kum, Zaphanath Paneah and Mahal Shala Hashbash. He is out with another titled Aposor which is enjoying airplay.
