Abeiku Santana says celebrities organising the vigil are "shallow thinkers"

Santana, also stated that, the celebrities will achieve nothing with their vigil as other demonstrations that fought for a solution to the power crisis led to nothing.

Popular radio presenter, Gilbert Aggrey aka Abeiku Santana has hit at Ghanaian celebrities who are organizing Saturday’s #DumsorMustStop  vigil, saying they have no understanding of the current  power crisis Ghana is battling.

According to Santana, who is the Mfantseman West NDC parliamentary aspirant their efforts are misplaced given that, there are other important things they could fight for like their movie industry which has been taken over by soap operas and as such, described them as “Shallow” thinkers.

"Instead of them fighting for their poor film industry, they are here talking about something they don’t even get. “Currently, lying before parliament is the film bill. They sit here and there are a lot of foreign soap operas taking over our television sets. Can’t you see that they are very, you know, excuse me to say, shallow?” he asked.

He added saying; “they don’t understand the issues” pertaining to the energy crisis. “They don’t even appreciate, they don’t understand the issues and they want to fight for the nation”.

“If you want to fight, fight for something that would benefit you directly. As for the energy crisis, it’s a national crisis. Government is committed and government will make sure it will do everything in their power to resolve it,” he told journalists in Accra, Friday.

Santana, also stated that, the celebrities will achieve nothing with their vigil as other demonstrations that fought  for a solution to the power crisis led to nothing.

“They won’t achieve anything because 'Won gbo' has done it, 'Wahala' has done it,” he stated.

Actress Yvonne Nelson and her other celebrity colleagues,  EL, DKB, Van Vicker, Barimah Sydney and many more, have concluded arrangements with the police and city authorities to rally their fans for the vigil in Accra on Saturday, May 16.
