"I believe the President should love all of us", not only John Dumelo - Yvonne Nelson

“For me, I want to see Ghana there and that’s a cool thing, Sarkodie is putting Ghana there so the President has to love him and so the President should mention more names to encourage us,” she actress stressed.

Popular actress, Yvonne Nelson has described President John Mahama’s endorsement of fellow actor, John Dumelo as biased.

President Mahama, speaking in an interview with Uniq FM on the International Youth Day openly said his favourite Ghanaian actor was John Dumelo.

This declaration obviously didn't go down well with some celebrities including Yvonne Nelson, who has voiced out her grievances.

Yvonne Nelson over the few months gained notoriety with when she led the DumsorMustStop vigil in the country.

Speaking on the ‘Let’s talk entertainment’ show, Yvonne said, “John Dumelo supports him publicly so I mean it is cool. "I believe he has got his favourite, everyone has their favourite and if you are in the entertainment industry and you are putting Ghana on the map, the president should love you because you are doing something for Ghana. We are all putting Ghana on the map so I believe the President should love all of us because we are all trying for Ghana.”“For me, I want to see Ghana there and that’s a cool thing, Sarkodie is putting Ghana there so the President has to love him and so the President should mention more names to encourage us,” she actress stressed.

It can be recalled that John Dumelo asked the vigil leaders to give the president  more time to fix the power crises which turned into a Twitter feud between Yvonne and John.

Yvonne called on President Mahama to recognize the efforts all the stakeholders in the movie industry instead of singling out John Dumelo.

“He should mention names like Sarkodie, Jackie Appiah, Myself, Majid Michel, John Dumelo. These are people putting Ghana on the map. We need that kind of encouragement from our leaders”.
