I supported NDC because NPP thought I was a bad brand – Mzbel

Speaking in a broadcast interview, Mzbel said she submitted a number of proposals to some government agencies for support when the party was in government under former president John Kufuor but had no support because “nobody wanted to associate” with her.

Speaking in a broadcast interview, Mzbel said she submitted a number of proposals to some government agencies for support when the NPP was in government under former president John Kufuor but had no support because “nobody wanted to associate” with her.

When she submitted similar proposals to the Atta Mills administration in 2009, she got support and undertook a number charity programme with the help of the government, she said.

“I will support NDC because of some support I got from them in the past. I have organised a lot of charity events where I got support from their government,” she told Class FM’s Class Drive last Thursday.

"When former President John Kufuor was then President, I had taken proposals to the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and so on but nobody believed in me, nobody wanted to associate with Mzbel because they think of me as a bad girl, they think of me as a bad brand," she said.

She added: “But when late president Atta Mills was in power before John Mahama, I got support to help people in Jamestown and to help the needy.

“I organised medical screening and a lot more, so I felt like if I support them and they keep staying in power they will continuing supporting my charity.”
