Shatta Wale asks Mahama, Akufo Addo for birthday gifts

Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr, popularly known as Shatta Wale, in a tweet Sunday said: "Nana akuffo addo and president Mahama please tomorrow is my birthday so am waiting for my land cruiser and Envelope..pleasseee."

President John Mahama is often accused of sharing four wheel drives to celebrities who have endorsed him while celebrities who have endorsed Nana Akufo-Addo are said to have taken 'envelope' from him.

The tweet as at the time of going to press had 371 retweets, 79 reply and 377 likes.

A similar post on Facebook has generated 176 shares and over 200 comments.

One Facebook user said: "Happy birthday to you King Shatta...u do all! I suggest that u demand for copy right compensation from ndc n npp for using ur songs. U deserve more than jx a land cruiser n an envelope from them if u wer to go strictly business with them. I wonder why ur management team has not taken this issue up. This is business!

Another user added: "JDM go get u one cos that is what he does with taxpayers money so shatta justcome out publicly n throw your support for him n u go get even more #Change is coming#"

"Very definitely for Kakai & Mahama Paper. The 2016 elections couldn't be without you," another user said.

The two presidential nominees have being using Shatta Wale's songs during their rallies.

While President Mahama prefers Shatta Wale's "Mahama paper," Nana Akufo-Addo on the other hand likes his "Kaikai" song.

Meanwhile, most of his social media followers seized the opportunity to wish their idol a "Happy birthday" in advance.
