Diva slams American Idol ''It's fake and boring''

''It's so boring and so fake,'' the multiple Grammy winner tells KISS FM on May 28.

She has been blamed for the demise of the Americn Idol but in a new interview with KIIS FM, Mariah Carey says the longtime music TV reality show is 'fake' and hinted that judges are made to fabricate their feedback to heighten the 'boring' show's entertainment value.

On the radio chat on Thursday. May 28, the Grammy-winner has made no secret of her disdain for her time on the reality show in the past – previously comparing the experience to 'hell' – said, ''It's so boring and so fake.''

Elaborating, Mariah - who also has a long-standing rivalry with current judge Jennifer Lopez - alluded that judges are coerced into giving exaggerated feedback to amp up the show's performance value and snare more ratings.

''I'm sorry I just think it's... when i say it's fake... I mean like you have to make up things to say about people. Half the time the performances are good, you just be like "it was good" and you feel like ending it there: "You were really good",' she said before trailing off.

The outspoken star, who featured on season 12 of the show alongside Randy Jackson, Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj, said she wouldn't consider returning for a possible reunion finale show.

''Hell, no! Absolutely not, that was the worst experience of my life. I'm not going to get into what it was, let's just say, I don't think they had any intentions of us having a good experience through that show. Pitting two females against each other wasn't cool.''

Referring to her reported-to-be contentious relationship with Minaj, she added, ''It should have been about the contestants instead of about some non-existent feud that turned into even more ridiculousness and I would never want to be involved in it again, but everyone else can like it.''

Mariah's comments were echoed by former American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe who blamed the show's demise on Nicki and Mariah's relationship in an interview with Billboard.
