Broke musicians vie for MUSIGA positions - Kontihene

Appietus, Gyedu Blay Ambulley, Daasebre Dwamena as well as incumbent president Obour have expressed interest in vying for the MUSIGA presidency.

According to hiplife artiste, Kontihene, no musician at the peak of his career will vie for a position at the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).

Speaking in an interview with Pulse TV, Kontihene indicated that it is only musicians who are broke that will contest for MUSIGA presidency in order to get a source of income.

“MUSIGA as a body should find the right people who are sound in mind to do that kind of job. Have you seen a musician at the peak of his career vying for that position before? No. When they are broke, that is where they want to seek their personal interest from,” he said.

“It is about time we separated ourselves from that body and make the right people with no selfish interest come into those positions and offices and manage the herms of affairs professionally. How can a mate drive pounds of mates to the Kaneshie circle? They will be heading to the pit. So I think Obour knew what he was about and I think he’s been able to achieve that successfully,” Kontihene added.
