We are not in a dilemma over KKD – Organisers of Miss Ghana

A publication by News-One suggested that organisers were contemplating on whether to let KKD host the November 7 event.

KKD emceeing an event

Exclusive Events Ghana, organisers of Miss Ghana, have said that they are not in a dilemma as to whether or not to maintain ace broadcaster Kwesi Kyei Darkwa (KKD)as the pageant’s resident host.

The report said, the organisers, “are concerned about public reactions and their brand, should they go ahead to put KDD on stage to host the event for the search for the next beautiful and intelligent Ghanaian lady, considering his recent rape saga involving a 19-year-old lady.On the other hand, they don’t want to give up the finest presenter, Kwesi Kyei Darkwa, considering his contributions towards the Miss Ghana brand over the years.”

But reacting to the publication on Radio Univers’ mid-morning show , Business Development Manager of Exclusive Events Ghana, Agyemang Appiah said the host of the event has already been chosen but would not disclose the name.

“As early as August this year, I can confirm that as organizers, we were very sure of who is hosting Miss Ghana 2015. so we are not in a dilemma. For every event company, everybody can confirm that when the event is beginning, you will be in a dilemma who to put on for the year. But then as at about two weeks to the event, and you are still in a dilemma, that is an issue… I’m sure everybody will see on November 7 who the emcee is” he said.

When show host, Abrantepa asked if the public can conclude that Daily Guide’s report was true should KKD not emcee the event, Agyemang Appiah answered, “We’ve chosen an emcee for 2015 and believe whoever we see on November 7 is the right person. As organisers we chose just as we chose KKD in 2012, Gideon Aryeequay in 2013. In case KKD is not seen, what you should conclude is, Exclusive Events have chosen another good person to represent for the evening.”
