Yaw Siki who made a resolution not to do secular music again after he was involved in a gory accident at the Accra-Tema Motorway turned down Sonnie Badu’s offer.

“I love my brother Sonni Badu so much and I respect him. What he did is an act of righteousness but Matthew 6:1-4 says, ‘…So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honoured by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret…’ So based on this word, I am not able to take the offer,” he told Hitz FM’s KMJ in an interview.

But livefmonline.com reports that, Sonnie Badu has apologised to Siki if his declaration embarrassed him in any way although that was not his intension.

“My motive was to let him know that we are there for him. It was a touchy subject when he said he depends on money from people when he preaches. My motive was not to embarrass him, if that is how he felt I apologize,” he told Antoine Mensah, host of Lifestyle Café.

Sonnie Badu offered to support Yaw Siki when the former rapper revealed in an interview with Joy News that he makes a living from offertory he receives after preaching in commercial buses.
