Ghanaian actor, John Dumelo joins colleagues in remembering late Nollywood star actor, Muna Obiekwe

John Dumelo has joined the tall list of industry people to pay tribute to the late Nollywood actor, Muna Obiekwe who died from kidney failure on Sunday. John chose to remember Muna by sharing a poster of his controversial movie with Muna, ‘Men In Love’ on Facebook.

The Ghanaian star actor wrote: “Words can’t explain how I’m feeling at this point. You were a great actor. When we worked together 4years ago in lagos, U played your role so well and professionally I was hoping we would work again together soon. God knows best. Rest in peace Muna. #‎rip‬”

‘Men in Love’ is a 2010 Nigerian drama directed by Moses Ebere and starring Tonto Dike, John Dumelo, Muna Obiekwe and Halima Abubakar. The film tells a story of how a couple experiencing troubles in their marriage had their situation worsened when a cursed homosexual friend visits them. It saw controversial sex scenes between John Dumelo and Muna Obiekwe .

Following the criticism that followed with his casting in the film, John Dumelo released a statement where he explained that the major reason why he accepted to act in the film “…was just to create awareness that people who are actually gay most likely are under demonic spells.” In another interview he stated that he loves women and will never be gay but does not regret taking the role in the film.
