Actor 'in talks to star in Spider-Man reboot'

The 18-year-old actor, who starred in 'Ender's Game' in 2013, is among a select group of actors being strongly considered for the coveted role.

British actor Asa Butterfield

British actor Asa Butterfield has entered into talks to star in undefined's 'undefined' reboot, according to Deadline.

There are five actors currently being eyed for the part of a high school-aged Peter Parker in Marvel's eagerly-awaited reboot of the sci-fi franchise, but Asa is the current front-runner, according to Deadline.

This comes shortly after undefined, the president of Marvel studios, confirmed the reboot will not be an origin story.

Feige said Marvel's new movie will work on the assumption that its audience already knows the "specifics" of Peter Parker's life.

He explained: "In Spider-Man's very specific case, where there have been two retellings of that origin in the last whatever it's been - [13] years - for us, we are going to take it for granted that people know that, and the specifics.

"It will not be an origin story, but with great power comes great responsibility. It is inherent to who his character is. But we want to reveal it in different ways and spend much more time focusing on this young high school kid in the Marvel Comic universe dealing with his powers."
