11 years after hosting the Oscars for the 1st time, comedian Chris Rock is in talks to host the 88th Academy Awards, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

According to reports, Chris Rock is in talks to host 2016 edition of the Academy awards ceremony, 11 years after his first gig.
Should he be announced the host, the comedian who hosted the awards for the 1st time in 2005, will work alongside Regina Hedlin, the event's new co-producer, who also directed the pilot of his series, 'Everybody Hates Chris.'

In 2013, Rock said he definitely would have taken the task had it been he was approached.
“I didn’t get an offer,” he said to Wrap. “I mean, it’s Neil Patrick Harris. It’s like, who would pick me before Neil Patrick Harris? He’s an amazing host.”
The 87th Oscars which was hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, took a 16% decline in the ratings.

Past hosts that have hosted the ceremony twice are Ellen DeGeneres (2007, 2014) and Jon Stewart (2006, 2008).
The 2016 Oscars is scheduled to hold at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on February 28, 2016.
