Actor to voice James Bond in audiobook

David Oyelowo is the latest black actor to narrate the audio version of a James Bond novel.

David Oyelowo has been chosen to narrate the audio version of Anthony Horowitz's new James Bond novel 'Trigger Mortis.'

‘I am officially the only person on planet Earth who can legitimately say: “I am the new James Bond” – even saying that name is the cinematic equivalent of doing the “to be or not to be” speech,’ the actor said after his appointment was announced.

I was asked specifically by the Fleming estate, which is really special.’ he added.

'Trigger Mortis' which is set to be published this year, September 8, will feature the return of Ian Fleming's villain Pussy Galore.

undefined, the upcoming book begins in 1957, two weeks after the end of Fleming's original novel Goldfinger.

Contrary to some online reports, Oyelowo is not the first black actor to narrate a James Bond audiobook.

Hugh Quarshie voiced the role for a 2012 collection of audiobooks.

Who do you think would make a better bond on screen? Oyelowo or Elba?
