Misunderstandings on set should be settled there and then – Movie director

According Mr Garbin, misunderstandings are not avoidable on set as movie directors and actors will always disagree on one thing or the other.

Movie direcotor and producer, Frank Fiifi Garbin at KAFF Awards

The most important thing he says is how best the issue is settled so that everyone leaves location with no qualms.

“A lot of things happen on set. Those who know me can testify that I say things the way they are. I’m the only one who has had a lot of issues with most of the top stars in the country. Any problem that happens on set should be settled there. After that particular location, everything should be over so that we all come back together as a family but some people take it beyond the set and that is the problem,” he told Abrantepa on Radio Univers’ Brunch2Lunch.

Garbin continued, “There is no way you will be on set without stepping on someone’s toe or another stepping on your toe but the most important thing is the work being done well.”

He also mentioned that “the misunderstanding is between the technical people and the artiste because film making is technical.

Garbin has directed countless movies including Okomfo Anokye, Broni Waawu and Broni Hiani.

His latest movie, Black Monkey, which stars Van Vicker, Prince David Osei, Kwaku Manu, Joe Shortingo, Big Akwess, Kwadwo Nkansah Liwin, among others is scheduled to be premiered on July 1, 2016 at the Silverbird Cinemas, Accra and West Hills Mall.
