“People hardly talk about women in the film industry” - Aseye Tamakloe
According to Aseye, the number of women in the film industry has shot up recently and are contributing immensely to the industry but hardly will you see people celebrating their achievements.

Speaking to Pulse.com.gh, Aseye Tamakloe bemoaned the level of attention and support given to women saying: “There are women in the film industry but the level of recognition isn’t enough. Can you imagine what these women can achieve if given the necessary support? If two women can access funds, they can do a better film than what a single woman can do.”
She conceded that women in the film industry aren’t much but claims they are doing better and deserve some attention.

Aseye said: "Realistically, there are not enough women in the film industry.
"Film will forever be with us – we have done so much for film and we are still doing so much. If you check the statistics in Ghana, we find more women financing films lately but people hardly talk about it,” she concluded.
Aseye Tamakloe, on Saturday, June 24, launched Ghana's first women film festival, Ndiva Women's Film Festival.

Ndiva Women’s Film Festival is a festival for African women filmmakers and women filmmakers of African descent in the film chain. They include directors, camera women, directors, production designers, marketers, editors, animators, etc.

The annual event will create a space for the filmmakers to exhibit their works, network, mentor, collaborate and celebrate each other.
The first edition of Ndiva Women’s Film Festival is scheduled for November this year.
