Ashaiman born Abraham Attah was discovered playing football on a school field when he landed his first ever movie role of Agu in Netflix’s produced "Beasts of No Nation" in 2015.

He has just been crowned "Best Actor" at the 31st edition of Film Independent Spirit Awards for his role in “Beasts of No Nation”.

Abraham Attah, 15, is a young actor some Ghanaian movie lovers have been trying to figure out who he is.

1. Abraham Attah was was discovered on a school field

Attah was playing football on a school field when "Beasts of No Nation" casting director, Harrison Nesbit approached and asked him if he'd be interested in auditioning for a movie. He was brought in for an audition and won the lead role of Agu, an African boy forced into a team of mercenary fighters.

2. He has a stable family living in Ashaiman, Greater Accra

Despite reports in 2015 that he was a street vendor, Attah has a more stable family life. The teen lives in Accra with his five siblings and parents. His mother works in a market and his father at the port.

3. Abraham was nervous to star alongside actor, Edris Elba.

According to the young actor, he scared because it was his first time shooting a movie. He was afraid of (Elba) at first because he sees him to be muscular and sees himself as an ant in front of him.

4. He is the first Ghanaian to present award at the Oscars.

Tonight (Sunday Feb. 28), the multiple award winning teen actor will become the first Ghanaian and actor to present an award at the 88th edition of Oscars. He will join a host of international stars J.J. 5. Abraham Attah has won 5 international awards out of 14 nominations.

The young star has won 5 international awards with his role in "Beats Of No Nation" out of 14 nominations. His latest award is the "Best Actor" at the 31st edition of Film Independent Spirit Awards. He has won only one local award -- "Best Actor in a Leading Role" at 2015 Ghana Movie Awards.

6. He has landed a role in an upcoming movie called "The Modern Ocean".

In November 2015, he joined the ensemble cast of Shane Carruth's third film, "The Modern Ocean".
