Two judges fired in New Zealand for insulting contestant

"You're a laughing stock. It's cheesy, it's disgusting, I personally found it artistically atrocious," Willy Moon told Joe Irvine.

Husband and wife judges Natalia Kills and Willy Moon have been kicked out of the judging panel on X Factor New Zealand after they poured out series of abuses at a contestant.

Social media was up in arms following the live show on Sunday night and fans' calls for the pair to be fired were answered on Monday, March 16 with Mark Weldon, chief executive of MediaWorks, announcing they will no longer judge the show with 'immediate effect'.

It comes after the British singer/songwriter humiliated aspiring singer Joe Irvine on stage following his rendition of 'Cry Me A River', accusing him of copying her husband's look of gelled back hair and a suit.

Kills and husband, Willy told the young star:

"Ladies and gentlemen, I'm just going to state the obvious, we have a doppelgänger in our midst. As an artist who respects creative integrity and intellectual property, I am disgusted at how much you've copied my husband.

“From the hair to the suit, do you not have any value for respect for originality?' alluding to the fact that Moon has copyright over wearing suits and gelling his hair back.

“You're a laughing stock. It's cheesy, it's disgusting, I personally found it artistically atrocious,' she added, something that acid tongued Simon Cowell himself has never sunk so low to say.

'I am embarrassed to be sitting here in your presence having to even dignify you with an answer of my opinion.” Willy threw in.

All the contestant said to Kills was, "Don't you copy Cleopatra?"
