Stonebwoy, Daddy Lumba, E.L, Sarkodie, others nominated for African Legends Awards

The Ghanaian stars were nominated for the award ceremony scheduled to take place in Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday, November 27.

Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, reigning VGMA Dancehall Artiste have been nominated for the "African Dancehall Act" and Sarkodie gets a nod in the "African Best Rap Artist" category.

Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy face stiff competition from Nigeria’s “team” of Patoranking, Harry Song, Orezi, Cynthia Morgan and Wizzy Pro.

And Sarkodie and EL, VGMA Artiste of the Year have the likes of Nigeria’s Phyno and Vector, AKA from South Africa to compete for the African Best Rap Artist Award.

Daddy Lumba was nominated in the African Legend Artist of the Year category and he will contend with AKA (South Africa), D’Banj (Nigeria), K’naan (Somalia), Yemi Alade (Nigeria), Asa (Nigeria) and Ghana’s Sarkodie and Amandzeba.

Joe Mettle earned a spot in the African Gospel Song of the Year category with his song, Akokyem Nyame while Kofi Kinaata is contending for the Fast Rising Artist of the Year.

The fifth in series, this year’s ceremony themed, The Chronicle has 30 award categories with over 200 nominees across Africa including 10 Lifetime achievers and iconic Awards.

Some of the categories to be awarded are Entertainment TV Station of the Year, Best Actor, On Air Personality of the Year, Best Comedian, Hit Song, Best Collaboration, Best Popular Blog and Best Music Producer which has Ghana’s Kaywa in contention.
